A first in the drinks category, Asahi’s augmented reality app provided an innovative tech solution to a familiar problem: how to drive trial. Using geolocation technology, the app enabled users to discover over 14,000 complimentary pints ‘hidden’ in locations across the UK.

The challenge
Deliver 14,000 complimentary pints of Asahi Super Dry to ‘enrichment seekers’ across the UK and provide customer support via a footfall driving mechanic.
The Solution
The Discover Karakuchi app encouraged users to explore their surroundings, capture virtual pints, and physically redeem them at participating venues across the UK and experience the 'Karakuchi' taste of Asahi Super Dry.
RESULTS
An 18% increase in trial with a 100% participation rate and over 14,000 pints redeemed by UK drinkers.
